Emiew 2′ (excellent mobility and interactive existence as work-mate) has received some new upgrades. Two major updates amongst many is its voice recognition capability and its adaptive suspension control technology which allows Emiew 2 to have greater stability during motion. This helps to facilitate actions such as going through the door, or walking over cables.

The latest (what looks to be a prototype) is a pair of sneakers by Creative Recreation and a pair of fiber optic heels by Francesca Castagnacci. The Creative Recreation sneakers, developed by Moritz Waldemeyer, uses flexible LED panels to decorate the shoe. Francesca Castagnacci takes a different approach using fiber optics and LEDs loosely draped along the form of the heel.

This shows photographs of a recently completed sculpture, currently on exhibition outside the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. It’s carved from a block of upholstery foam, and coated in a rubber skin, so when you grab hold of those rolls of fat you find they are actually soft.

13-year old Hibiki Kono from Cambridge, England made himself a vacuum powered wall-climbing suit.Using a pair of 1,400-watt vacuums he purchased at UK retailer Tesco, Hibiki Kono hooked them up to a couple of large suction pads, and proceeded to ascend a vertical surface with the contraption strapped to his back and arms. He spent five months designing and building his Spider-Man gear.

I’ve had a few pms from people asking about the stargate that my dad and I have been building out in our backyard, asking for an update to how its going. The truth is, we havent touched it in months tongue.gif

I said i would have an update by the start of the new season so i guess this will have to do. I still need to repaint it and fix the chevrons but times are a bit tough at the moment and i simply cant afford the $40 tin of paint to paint the bloody thing. ANYWAY….

It all started on paper. Actually it started on AUTOCAD for drawing the blueprints. Since the US-Navy were unable to send us the blueprints wink.gif we had to kinda draw them from scratch using pictures and video footage, trying to get as many of the little details as exact as possible.

David Mach is a sculptor and installation artist who puts wire hangers to use in his pieces of art. Hundreds of basic hangers are welded together and then the plastic base is removed, leaving the hanger sculpture ready for silver nickel plating.

Designer Eric Ku redefined the concept of a chair by using alphabet. He made this chair out of the letters in the word “chair”. So it’s easy to construct a chair by assembling the redesigned alphabets.
